As we move through our busy modern lives we are frequently over stressed and over stimulated. We accumulate a great deal of tension which can manifest physically (my back is so tight!) mentally (I’m so stressed!) or emotionally (I was happy and carefree once, wasn’t I?). It’s easy to get fatigued or feel disconnected from your authentic self and from others.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy provides a way to explore your relationship to yourself-- your body, your mind, and your life. Combining elements of body/mind psychology with traditional yoga postures, Phoenix Rising encourages the release of mental, physical and emotional holding patterns. This work can alleviate tension on every level and creates greater self awareness, allowing for growth and deep healing.

Commonly asked questions

How is Phoenix Rising yoga therapy (PRYT) different from Thai Yoga Therapy?

Thai yoga therapy is a vigorous stretch and massage. PRYT is a deep meditation with your mind/body/spirit as the locus of the meditation. Every Thai massage is basically the same but every PRYT session is different.

I don't meditate or do yoga. Do I need to be a yoga or meditation person to get someting out of this work?

Absolutely not. Your practitioner guides you into a meditative state and supports your body the in different yoga postures. These postures are selected with your goals and directives in mind and adjusted to support your individual body.
